So......Michael Jackson is dead, and it is the end of an era (or is it?). Will we really miss him all that much? I guess we will miss those headlines when he would get up to something crazy (again), but other than that- not so much. I guess I shouldn't speak for anyone else- *I* will not really miss him, but then I was never really a fan of his, anyway. Even if I had ever liked him, I would have stopped when the reality of his sickness came out. I just can't feel sad about losing him- he's better off where he is, wherever that may be.
On to more pertinent subjects......
I don't know how anyone else does their budget/finances, but we have a set amount of household money each week, and every week I seem to run out of money before I run out of week. I got out the weekly money on Tuesday because I knew that we were going Down the Hill Wednesday for Princess Stomping Foot's doctor appointment. I paid the $20 co-pay at the doctor's, filled up the car with gas ($30), and we stopped at the natural grocery store for some gluten free foods ($65). Yesterday morning, the kids informed me that we were completely out of canned cat food, so we stopped by Target to get more. We also picked up dry dog food, (I was smart enough to ask the kids what else we were running out of) upholstery cleaner to deal with the nasty stain on the couch, and sandals for Her Ladyship from the clearance rack. Wonder Teen spent the allowance that I owed him, and that brought the bill up to about $55. That's $170- and I haven't even gone grocery shopping yet! No wonder I run out of money before I run out of week.
While we were at Target, I looked at the purses. I'm getting tired of my old purse, and have been thinking about getting something different. I usually stick with a larger satchel type purse that I can fit onto my shoulder, but I am thinking of something smaller, and maybe a cross body bag. I am tired of lugging such a big bag around. I don't know if I can go that small, though. I think that if I get a new, smaller make up bag, and a lighter weight wallet, I may be surprised at how small/light everything is. Or, it may not make a difference at all. We'll see.
Here's what I am wearing today:
Born Concept sandals- $25 at Famous Footwear sale
Black Knit Skirt- $12 on sale at Target
Flower Top- $15 on clearance at Target
Lt. Blue Cami- $5 on sale at Old Navy
Watch- $15 on sale at Sears
Pearl Necklace- $17 on sale at Kohl's
GRAND TOTAL= $89
