TGIF!!!
It has felt like such along week, and I'm glad that it's ending. Of course, today is already off to a bad start. It's only 8:30 and the kids have lost their priveledges due to fighting. I was hoping to have a nice, quiet day- now it will be an agry day. I'm going to busy myself with laundry and North and South on Netflix.
I keep seeing ads for the movie My Sister's Keeper. I think that is based on a true story. What a horrible premise for a movie- couple has a kid with terrible disease, genetically engineers another child so that she can be a donor when she's old enough and then younger child sues parents for the right to decide about her own body. That's what you get for playing with nature. It's one of those movies where you know that nothing good is going to come out of it in the end.
The new issue of Knitty is out. There weren't any patterns that really grabbed me. The Rusty Knight would probably like a Trilobite hat for winter, though. If I were smart, I would start Christmas knitting now, but see- I'm not that smart!
Since all the ladies at YFL said I should keep that fuscia cardi, I pulled off the tags and wore it today.
Here's my outfit:
Born Concept Sandals- $25 at Famous Footwear Sale
Denim Clamdiggers- $14 t Lands End online outlet
Blue Button Down- $15 on sale at Kohl's
Fuscia Babydoll Cardi- $18 at Target
Flower Pin- $5 at The Gap (circa 2004)
Watch- $15 on sale at Sears
GRAND TOTAL= $92
Wearing this little flower pin reminds me that I want more of these for summer. I never feel fully "dressed" without an accessory, but sometimes in the heat I don't want jewelery hanging from me. Kohl's has a little display in all different colors, and some of the other shops at the mall had them, too. The pin reminded me of a pair of black capri's that I had bought at the same time. They were a size 18 from The Gap. I remember that, because I was very happy to be fitting into that size. I had lost about 20 pounds to get there, and was perfectly happy with that size. I also remember throwing those same capri's into a Goodwill bag a couple of years ago, thinking that I would never get back down to that size again. If I had those capri's now- they would be too big for me. In fact, I noticed today that my clamdiggers (which are a 14) are starting to get loose. Usually, they are loose by the end of the day, but snug when I first put them on. Today, they are not even snug when I put them on. I wish that I had gone to Gottschalks and taken the time to find another pair of clamdiggers before they closed, but I guess that it gives me an excuse to go elsewhere. Maybe I will go out shopping tonight. I deserve it after such a week!
